On September 8, 2018, the U.S.-China Health Summit Innovation Competition (Boston) was successfully held at the Harvard T.H.Chan School of Public Health. Twelve teams competed for the top four seats to the final. With twelve judges being present, the competition site was fully packed.

Professor Jing Ma, President and Secretary-General of the U.S.-China Health Summit, delivered an opening speech and pointed out: "The (Innovation) Competition was originally created to attract and support more young people to join the trend of changing the global health industry."

The Competition’s preparation work lasted for half a year and it received applications from 46 health care projects in six major tracks, of which, the Nutrimedy team innovativly used the online nutrition platform for chronic disease management, aiming to provide patients with cost-effective and customized care; EuMotus utilized artificial intelligence technology to provide rehabilitation for athletes; Floelle provided care solutions for women with leakage of urine...

Competition Teams

The Competition was divided into two sections. Amid the interval of the Competition, Jessica Zeaske, the Director of Healthcare Investment of GE Venture, and Su Lingyun, the President of Alibaba Health Research Institute, shared information about the health care investment environment in China and the U.S., and answered questions from the enthusiastic audience.

D&P Bioinnovations, Cam Med, Floelle, and Breegi Inc. finally stood out as the top four of the Semi-final Competition.

Wisam Breegi, CEO of Breegi Inc., said: "I had no idea about (the U.S.-China Health Summit) before the competition. I’ve gained a lot today. I am even more looking forward to communicating with thousands of American and Chinese experts in the field of health care and finding opportunities for cooperation at the annual U.S.-China Health Summit."

Shann Ganhdi, Partner of Longwood Venture and one of the judges, claimed that: “It’s rare to participate in a competition with so many high-quality teams, which makes it very difficult for our judges to choose. What differentiate this competition from others is that it is a platform focusing on opening up the U.S.-China health care market and promoting Sino-China exchanges.”

Semi-finalists of Boston and Beijing Divisions will gather and compete on the Final at the 2018 U.S.-China Health Summit in Chengdu, China from October 12 to 14. The Annual Summit focuses on promoting the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and experiences through high-level dialogues and will bring together more than 1,200 healthcare experts of industrial, academic, political, and research fields to talk about the development trend of healthcare.
